Yancey County proposes to provide a local monetary match of up to $15,000 (Fifteen Thousand Dollars) for the NuWray Hotel project, which is required for the company's application for the North Carolina Department of Commerce's Rural Economic Development Division Building Reuse Grant Program seeking $300,000 in total grant funding through the state incentive program. The Yancey County Board of Commissioners intends, subject to public comment at the public hearing for which notice is hereby given, to approve the local grant match.

The Board of Commissioners believes this project will stimulate and stabilize the local economy, promote business, and result in the creation of new jobs in the County. The County's required local match is subject to the construction, expansion and/or renovation of the historic NuWray Hotel property in Burnsville, Yancey County. The company plans to create at least twenty-four new employment positions in connection with the grant application.

The Board of County Commissioners of the County of Yancey shall hold a public hearing on the County's proposed incentive at 6:00 o'clock p.m., in the courtroom of the Yancey County Courthouse in Burnsville, North Carolina, on August 8, 2022, at which time any person may be heard regarding the project.
