Important guidelines to remember regarding grants made from the Yancey County COVID-19 Response Fund:
- Grants awarded may only be spent to assist with the cost of purchase and acquisition of materials or resources. Grant dollars will not be awarded to cover the expense of salary or personnel costs.
- Grants will only be awarded for programs directly responding to the effects of the COVID-19 crisis only, not to assist with routine programs or operations conducted by the applicant which do not provide a direct response to the health crisis.
- Grants will be awarded on a rolling basis depending on the availability of dollars in the Response Fund at any given time. Applications will be reviewed and approved or denied by the Yancey Advancement Foundation Board of Directors. For purposes of reviewing grant submissions the YAF Board will meet on a bi-weekly schedule beginning on April 20, 2020.
- There is no deadline for grant applications. Grants will be awarded on a rolling basis, depending on the availability of funds available at any given time and pending grant applications.
