Yancey County Senior Center provides congregate meals, home delivered meals, Level One and Level Two In-home aide services, transportation, fitness and health, and activities.

The mission of Yancey County Committee on Aging, Inc. is to promote quality of life and successful aging for the senior citizen population of Yancey County.

Services available at the Senior Center include:
• Meals on Wheels
• Transportation
• Educational & Recreational Activities

Meals on Wheels
• For home delivered meals, it is individuals who are 60 years of age or older who are frail, homebound, or isolated, and in some cases, their spouses, and/or persons with disabilities.
• Submit your application for service. A staff member will contact you once they have reviewed your application. Some programs may require a referral from a doctor or social worker.

Volunteer Help
The meals are delivered by volunteers on a daily basis. Services eligibility is determined by 60 years of age or older and need.

Transportation Services
Transportation Services are available to anyone that is 60 years of age or older that live in Yancey County.

Educational & Recreational Activities
Educational and Recreational activities allow individuals to fellowship and continue to enjoy life. View the activities:

• Mahjong Classes

Facility Rental
The dining room is rented out for events, birthday/anniversary events, etc. Please contact the Senior Center to inquire about availability and pricing.
